Psalm 73( V1-14)

Can you turn to your neighbor and say "Truly God is good to us"

And again say " For people like me who are pure in heart"

Truly God is good to Israel,
To such as are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
My steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the boastful,
When I saw the prosperity of the wicked

But The Psalmist says he almost stumbled, almost slipped

because When he looked at wicked people.

Have you ever seen some people who are really wicked, but still they do very well.

They have good health, good wealth, nothing happens to them.

They are boastful, arrogant, pride is like necklace to them, but they really do well.

But all the time , you are being disciplined, you are being chastened everyday, going though struggle after struggle.

Have you ever wondered , is there any point in being Truthful, Righteous.

V13,14

13 Surely I have [d]cleansed my heart in vain,
And washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued,
And chastened every morning.

How does God loves a person

How does God hates a person

Bible says God loved Jacob and He hated esau.

So how did God demonstrated His Love to Jacob and His hatred to esau.

You will never see one time God disciplining esau.

But you will see God beating Jacob every day of his life.

When Jacob came back into the land , esau was prosperous , wealthy, 

when Jacob offered to give gifts , esau says he has no need of them.

But Jacob was limping, broken and has a new name. Why

Because God disciplines His Children.

Today if you are going through a time of disciplining, chastening, know that God loves His Children.

Do not look at the wicked and think , nothing happens to them.

Do not be envious about wicked having riches.

Richness   - not a  sign of Spirituality.

Having a good bank balance, having luxurious house, an excellent car is not a sign of Spirituality.

In the same way,  Poverty is also not a sign of Spirutality.

some people think,  being poor is also not a sig of spirituality.

Purity is the sign of Spirituality.

Purity in relation to other person.

Purity in your words, 

Purity in your dealings, actions

Purity when talking about others

Purity when you are alone.

Purity in your money transactions

Purity in keeping your vessel.

Purity is the true sign of Spirituality

The Psalmist almost stumbled thinking that RIchness is a sign of Spirituality, but again realized that

God is good to those who are Pure in heart.

This morning , is there anything that is blaming your conscience, are you lacking purity in any area,

True Spirituality is in purity,,  not in riches and not in poverty,

Isaiah  , in his Vision, in the presence of almighty God, he saw that he was a man of unclean lips and asked God, 

oh  I am a man of unclean lips and i live among unclean people.

This morning,  can your worhship God with a pure heart.
