Psalm 104

Praise the Sovereign Lord for His Creation and Providence.

Have you ever spoken to yourself? What kind of things we speak to our soul?

Nebuchadnezzar spoke to himself and said.

 30 The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”


Luke 12:19 says

19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’

People may say to their soul. Yes I did it,
But here the psalmist says Bless the Lord O my Soul.

This is the Life of a believer that always declares Bless the Lord.

V1 - Bless the lord , O my soul.
V 35 - Bless the Lord, O my soul.



Everything in a believers life should start with Blessing the Lord and ends with Blessing the Lord.

You don't have a job - I give thanks and I know You are my provider.
When you get the job - I give thanks because You have provided me the job.

Everything in believers life is about Bless the Lord O my soul.




Who God is?

Clothed with honor and majesty.
Covers Himself with light as with a garment.
1 Timothy 6:16
                       He dwells in unapproachable light.

------------------Creation-------------------------
V2 - You stretch out heavens like curtains.
V5  - Laid the foundations of the earth

When you look at the creation , you know about the Creator.
When iphone was invented, they say oh what a creation and what a creator.

Atheist story walking though woods.

we are living in a time where people spend more on gadgets to understand lot of things.
But go out into nature and see.

For kids growing up here, with the things you learn from school, we understand the challenges you face in understanding God.

That is why in Romans it says "
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,


if you  look at the creation, God's invisible attributes - are clearly seen.


I was recently travelled to India. you almost travel above the waters for almost 9 hours.
i was thinking, how the water that flows over 9000 miles, with mighty and roaring waves , those waters even crosses the mountains that are in the middle of the seas, but comes and stops at your beach.
Job 38:10,11

“Or who shut in the sea with doors,
When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
9 When I made the clouds its garment,
And thick darkness its swaddling band;
10 When I fixed My limit for it,
And set bars and doors;
11 When I said,
‘This far you may come, but no farther,
And here your proud waves must stop!’

Thus far you may come, but no farther.


Provision:

He cares for Wild Animals  V11 . He gives drink to every beast of the    
    field. The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

He cares for Wild Animals  V12. By the side of the springs, the birds of the heavens have their home.

He water the hills  V13. He waters the hills.
How much water does it take to water your garden and how much times it takes.
He waters the hills.

He cares for lions V21 The young lions seek their food from God and He provides.
The lion is the king of the forest, but the Word says even the king of the forest seek food from God.You may be extraordinary, excellent or skilled or may be king in particular area, but seek from God.


Sometimes when you see national geographic channels and you see all this wild animals in the forest and think how do they get all provisions, its God who provider. He is the Provider.


V33 -  Sing to the Lord , sing Praise to God while I have my being.
yesterday I was speaking to bro Matthew. and he said we sing This is the day that the Lord has made,I will be glad and rejoice in it.

This is the day to sing to God, while you have breath.
This is the day to rejoice. 
Don't say today i am not in mood to sing. This is the day to Praise the Lord.
Let our meditation be sweet to Him.

Make a joyful shout to the Lord

This year as Pastor has declared as the year of greater glory.
But as we have seen in Isaiah , it says
Arise and Shine,
Arise from your situations, one of the key things is your Shout.


When Jesus said
your Shout gives Life.
your SHout

In John 11:43 Jesus cried with a loud voice and said.
 “Lazarus, come forth!”

Here the Lord did not whisper in the ears, murmur , but the Word says He Cried out with a Loud Voice.

Some of the commentators say, if the Lord has not mentioned the name of Lazarus, all the dead might have raised, that the power of shout.

The Shout of the Lord gives life tot he dead.

In 2016, we might had experience different shouts, there might shouts between husbands and wife, you might have shouted at your children, colleagues, relatives.
But If we have to see the Greater Glory of the Lord, Arise from your worldly shouting, Shout the gospel of the Lord joyfully and that will bring Life to the people.

Titanic - Pastor John Harper - a pastor from England was on the Titanic ship.
He and his 6 year old daughter were travelling on that ship to come to Chicago and preach in a Church.
As soon as the Ship hit the iceberg and started breaking, They started releasing the lifeboats and first they were asking people with kids to get into the life boats. Pastor John Harper has every opportunity to save his life with the 6 year old daughter but he put her daughter in the life boat and kissed her and came back and started to speak the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was going and asking everyone  whether they are saved and leading them to Christ, and After some time , when the ship was breaking apart, many people jumped from the ship into the waters,  Pastor John Harper got a life jacket and in that frigid waters he was going from person to person in the waters and asking are you saved and if not sharing the gospel.  finally , he found a young man who doesnt have a life jacket and was bearly holding onto some debris from ship and he swam to him and asked are you saved, and he said no, then the pastor threw his life jacket to him and said you need this more than me, and led him to Christ. and then he swam to other people  sharing the gospel but he died in the Frigid waters.

And this young man was one of the survivors of the Titanic .
4 years after the tragedy, a meeting was called for all the survivors of Titanic. and many has testified about Pastor John Harper . And this young man told his story of how pastor gave his life jacket and shared the gospel and led him to Christ.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends


Pastor John Harper in midst of Crisis, emotions , he Shouted for the Lord and gave life to many people.

In this new year can we shout joyfully to the Lord and bring people to salvation.

Amen.


Serve the Lord with gladness.

When you do work for the Lord, dont do it with grumbling.
Even if you do small thing in Church, do it with gladness.
Even a small work for the Lord is a big privilege. The sons of korah did not recognized the importance of the work they are doing for the Lord, but wanted a higher post and got lost.
But Joshua served the Lord with gladness, he was a servant for 40 years. and he became finally the leader.
