Psalm 106: 1- 22

Praise the Lord!

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord?
Who can declare all His praise?

God is good - Amen.

The word good is a word which is often used lightly,

but carries weight of eternity.

We use this word for everything.

examples, this dress is so good, this food is so good, he is a very good man.

Romans 3:12

There is no one who does good, no not one..

Matthew 19

16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good[e] Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[f] No one is good but One, that is, God.[g] But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

There are 2 things he calls Jesus as Good teacher, second is what good thing shall I do?

Only God is good.

and anything that comes from the hand of God is good.

Genesis 1:31 says

31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

James 1:17

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning

Philippians 1:6

that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; 

God is good. His mercy endures forever

How can we show our response to this goodness is verse 3

3 Blessed are those who keep justice,
And he who does[a] righteousness at all times!

In Mercy, what does God do? He forgives.

What does He expect from this forgiveness.

Psalm 130:3,4

3 If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with You,
That You may be feared.

Blessed are those who keep justice,
And he who does[a] righteousness at all times!

God is not in lack of giving, He is in lack of slaves of righteousness.

Blessed are those who keep justice and does.

How can we do righteousness at all times.

It is through slavery.

only when you are a slave then you can do something at all times.

Romans 6:18

18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Psalmist tell the history

V6: We have sinned with our fathers,

v7: They did not remember the multitude of Your mercies

v8:They soon forgot His works;

v16: When they envied Moses in the camp,

why these things happen?

After seeing seeing all the plagues in egypt, they complained,

after seeing the red sea parting and then they forgot gods goodness and 

complained.

time after time -? why does this happen.

we can relate to this.

Because it has not gone deep.

Luke 6:48

47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock

means what?

When you hear the Word of God.

First when you hear the Word - where does it enter, ears.

For some it enters the ears and leaves from other ears.

For some, it enters the ears and also the soul - the mind , they think about it and they are excited about the Word and it stops there.

and when storms comes they fall.

But there are some, where not only it enters the body, and soul, but it sticks to their Spirit. and in their innermost being they say Not I but Christ. not my will but Gods will.

Genesis 24: 1- 5

Verse 5
5 The servant asked him, “What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?”

Verse 8
8 If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there.”


Don't take back my son - come towards Christ.
Leave everything of world to come to Christ. Don't turn back.
Why do we go back again and gain to sinful things is many times we go under law

Always bring people to Christ - Have that fellowship.

Not Giving up meeting together
Hebrews 10:25

The danger of not meeting is we fall into sin. my own story when i was alone, all temptations will come up. But when I meet and see the encouragement, i get build up.


Verse 12
12 Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

19 After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.” 20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels. 21 Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful.

When servant prayed how did he pray. Why

Such is the servant heart of rebekah.

Rebekah - servant attitude of Christ.
No complaints, no murmurs
Not just doing duty, but constantly looking for how to help fellow believers.

If a great person comes to our house we would do every thing but in church how we do.

Rebekah might have said to herself , they are better than me

Phillipians 2:3
Consider one another better than others.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

How is our attitude to our fellow church brethren.

Matthew 25:
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Not having Servanthood is the lawlessness..

John 21:17 - Loving God more than all these things is Feed the lamb.

How do we know we love God more than all things of the world.

Do you love more than all things of the world - how do we know because of feeding the Sheep.


V58: Go by Faith
Listen to the Word of God.
Go by faith
Not by what mom and dad say, friends say, world's say-
No idea who the man is, the place, but by faith.


Hearing the Word.
Many times , we hear people saying Lord please reveal the same thing to my family also .
But God spoke to you.


Genesis 25: 21-23

 22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.

23 The Lord said to her,

“Two nations are in your womb,
    and two peoples from within you will be separated;
one people will be stronger than the other,
    and the older will serve the younger.”

Genesis 27:5,6

5 Now Rebekah was listening as Isaac spoke to his son Esau. When Esau left for the open country to hunt game and bring it back, 6 Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau.

It is Rebekah who heard the Word of God.

The Church which takes out the detestable thing and bless the promised one.
