1) Value your time of reading Bible.
      The value you give to anyone or any activity reveals your attitude towards the person or any work.
      Suppose Value it. this is my most precious time.you don't let other things come in your way.

2) READ SLOWLY.
     When reading bible , we get a lot more by studying slowly than finishing quickly.
      Don't finish it for sake of finishing it.
      Remember, very soon you will teachers of Word of God.

3) What is the Context.
      If you don't know the context, the text will always be very alien to us.
      What is the context here
      David killed Goliath, and came back to the camp and Jonathan heard this conversation
      Who wrote - to Whom the Word is written.

4)  Find Jesus in the scripture you are reading.
      Jesus is the friend.

4) What is the Bigger Picture.
    what is God is speaking to me

5) Share the WORD.  
    Sharing is the key.

Building the House

House:

Everyone of us belongs to a house and part of a household.

LIFE

FAMILY.

CHURCH

NATION.

Every one will be building a house. Whether you know or not you are in the process of building your life, your family, your Church, your Nation.


Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;

Building a house is not easy. It needs  foundations.

Foundations.

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Common things

Both are building the houses.

Both are learning from the Same teacher.

Both are going through the storm.

WISDOM and FOOLISHNEES.

Recently when I took the kids to beach the kids were building castles very quickly which look great and beautiful.

But as soon as the Wave came in the rock stayed, but the sand castle wiped off.

The depth of foundation decides how tall a building can be.

The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.

Shaunnamite woman built her house on the ROCK 

In the storm she was perfect. She said It is Well.

Most Christians do Post Approach than preapproach

SELF WILL.

God's will be done.

It is the denial of self will and say God's will be done. Is the key of Christian Life.

Matthew 21:28‭-‬31 NKJV

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’  He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went.  Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go.  Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.

Matthew 21:28‭-‬31 NKJV

Here we see 2 sons.

Both are sons.

The first one was full of his self will.

When father asked , he said I will not ,very Rash, very self will , I don't care, do what you want to do.

The second son.

Father came to second ,and second said Sir.

Nobody calls Father as Sir.

And this man appears so humble, he didn't even dare to call father as father but he calls sir.

And we get a picture of his speech, we might think thisan obeys whatever the father says.

But he didn't go.

Many people in the Church say Amen to the message, Altar call many people go forward. Looks more humble , you cannot even find a better Christian.

But the moment you go out , if you do your will, you refuse to cancel your own will and say God your will be done.

WISDOM is denying what you think and do God's Will.

WISDOM - requires having Heavenly View.

Most of the times , 

the way we look at situations , we look at people, things, reveal our spiritual status.

Even our response to any situation or any question will reveal how we think. Spiritual or Carnal.

Most people View/understand from a earthly point of view.

Heavenly View, Earthly View.

John 3:3,4

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

Nicodemus came and praised Jesus and when Jesus said about born again.
Then Nicodemus said, How can a man be born when he is old.

Most of the times our responses to any situation is earthly.

Those whose sight is set on earthly things builds their foundation on sand. Because their thinking is always on earthly.

And their response is early.

One good test whether you think earthly or heavenly is first thing, when do you goto God's Word in a situation. Do you go first

Finances: Check bank accounts, friends, relatives, loan on credit card. And when no help comes then you goto God.

Sickness: first Google, then doctor, then everyone givesup then God.

WISDOM IS in looking at God's way of looking.

Seated in spiritual places.

Proverbs 24:3,4
Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
4 By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.

Building a house needs wisdom.

James 1:5

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him

First part of Wisdom.

In My Fathers house there are many rooms
John 14

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

YES to the LORD

Amen

Aman - Truly , verify , So be it onto me. Faith

Genesis 15:6

6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

God is YES God.

His Name is AMEN.

Yes to the Lord

Everything in your life , what you are and what you have is because you said Yes.

Your job you have is because you said Yes to that job.

Your marriage you are in , because you said Yes to the marriage. Your commitment to that marriage because you said Yes in your Vows.

Somebody say Yes to the Lord, to share gospel.

My friend said Yes to the Lords calling and shared gospel to me.

One day, on a Saturday evening, i was going to a movie theater to watch a movie. on my way, my friend called me and reminded that there is  bible study.

So, i agreed to a friend for movie ,now i have bible study.

So your Yes reveals your priorities.

On a Friday like this, you have to say Yes to come to fasting prayer meeting, there might be other works also. Do you think there are other works or not.

So many things might have been planned. but you said Yes to this meeting tells your priorities.

Moses No.No.No. then YES

Exodus 3: 

Moses struggled to say Yes to God.

First God introduced Himself, and then revealed the plan.

So what came first, the person and then the plan.

Remember, more than all the plans and purposes of God , God Himself is important.

then instead of the focus on the person, Moses attention turned towards

some things that does not have anything to do with Yes.

Identity

          1) V11

11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

Matthew 15:26‭-‬27 NKJV

Even if God Himself calls you dog, you say Yes, Lord but your promise is still Yes. 

Abilities

    4-   10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and [b]slow of tongue.”  

       Moses only had a rod in has hand. and the task given was overthrowing a kingdom and overcome million people.

Logic

4 Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”

Results

So what does this teach us.

YES is not for your abilities, Yes is not for the logic is correct. Yes is not for your identity.

Yes is not to the plan. 

YES is to the Person.

I AM GOD.

I AM is for everything you need.

Obedience: is an Yes. and an  YES is to the person , and not to the plan, logic, abilities, identity.

How do we say Yes to the Lord

1. Yes is to the person , not to the plan

Jonahs Yes was so difficult because, He was seeing the end result of the plan of God.

1 Samuel 17:

When everyone else is worrying  about Goliath and when everyone wondering asking who can fight , a small boy said YES.

You know who God is , then  your Yes is easy.

1 Samuel 17:37

37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

Saying Yes in No Circumstances is not easy.

   That is Faith.

Yes in Gethsemane

Jesus Christ when in the garden of Gethsemane.

I said Yes , if possible take this away, but still said Yes , I will go.

Good to say Yes

39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

Sometimes we have Gethsemane situations.

We realize how selfish you are only after you are married.

So many situations will come like Gethsemane.

Some times even when you don't have , you have to give.

Acts 20:25

35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

I say YES to give even it is tough.

You know why Gods Word says , you are in place of authority.

those who give, God gives more authority.

Saying YES to promises of God.

Its not about Yes and NO.  Its about Yes in HIM.

17 Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No? 18 But as God is faithful, our [g]word to you was not Yes and No. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes.

whenever we say Amen - we give Glory to God.

Affirmative Yes.

Healing - YES

According to your faith , let it be onto you.

And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”

Matthew 9:28 NKJV

Your YES is YES in HIM.

20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

The more mature you become in Spirit , you Yes should in your nature.

For Zachariah, the Yes did not flow automatically. the Yes had a question - old man

Luke 1:18

18 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

For Mary, the Yes had a question, do not know a man

Luke 1:38

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I [g]do not know a man?”

When we end this meeting, we will pray and say Yes Lord.

but real test will begin after we leave.
