Matthew 5: 9
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
The Bible says peace makers are called sons of God.
Sons of God:
God called us as sons of God.
if you want to be a peacemaker, the first thing is you should be a man of peace.
how does anyone become a man of peace?
Lord Jesus said, the peace i give the world does not give.
1) when a person believes in Jesus Christ, and because of the faith , they will become man of peace.
a man of peace will not be disturbed by the pressures, circumstances or people.
even when that man is shaken, only peace comes out of him.
we are all born again believers, we all have taken baptism, experienced the love of God but still you see believers losing their countenance, they disturbed and they lose their peace.
symptoms of people who lose peace:
they do things very well even for the Church - but the moment something goes little wrong or not the way they expected, they emotions change, they shout at others, they lose stability.
Turn to 1 chronicles 22: 6-9
6 Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel. 7 And David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God; 8 but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight.
when David wanted to build a house for God, God told him you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth.
David - his title was Man after Gods own heart.
He wrote the maximum number of songs for God. He is a true worshiper of God.
He fought the wars for Israel, He inquired God every time he has to go to war.
Lord Jesus is called the son of David. Book of Acts says David is called Prophet of God.
So many great things were told about David. but when David wants to build the house, why did God say "No David, you should not build the house for My Name."
You can be a good worshiper, you might be a man after Gods very own heart, you might have done great things for God. But when God looks to build His Church, he searches for a man of Peace.
Verse 9 says God told David, that his son Solomon is man of rest.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon,[a] for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. 10 He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
Remember this principle,
For a man of war, there will be wars all around.
For a man of rest, there is not only rest for him, but there will be rest around him.
Verse 10, God says he shall be My son.
whenever God tells about David, He says My Servant David, but here God calls Solomon as son. and he will build a house for My Name.
Solomon - man of peace
not only a man of peace but also maintains peace with neighbors,God gives such people of peace to be builders.
Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Why a person should be man of peace and a peace maker to build the house.
House of God is place where many people should come. and God looks for peace makers who will rest their peace upon others, so that they can be won for God and joined to the Church.
A peace maker gives peace to others and brings people to Christ.
But a man of war makes wars.
Man of war:
Some people have a habit of grumbling, murmuring, complaining, gossiping. These habits takes away peace. (some people only have peace when they go and gossip.)
The habit of gossip, complain - these people are man of war.
the moment you gossip, remember you are waging war against other believers and losing peace with God. You cannot be peace maker if you have a habit of gossiping.
Isaiah 57:20
Wicked throw the mud. they don't have peace they are like waves.
are you a man of war or man of peace?
The Lord wants to build the Church, but He looks for people who are at Peace.
Luke 10: 1-9
When the Lord told the disciples 2* 2 to go to every city, He told them when they go to city and enter a house say Peace to this house.
If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon that house.
This peace is not suddenly developed because a man of God is coming to their house.
that person is basically a man of peace.
Lord also says don't keep on moving to other houses.
why - you may not found many houses of peace.
but when you find a house of peace , from that house - preach the gospel, heal the sick, Build the Church from there.
Ephesians 6:15 - Gospel of Peace
10 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also,[a] and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road. 5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. 9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘The very dust of your city which clings to us[b] we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ 12 But[c] I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.
Luke 2:14
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”[c]
So, you may say all this is good, how to become a man of peace.
Romans 5:1 justification brings peace.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Colossians 3:15 Let peace rule
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful
Idols - 2 Chronicles 15:5,6
you become man of war, when you have idols in your life.
the below scripture, it says there was no peace there was great turmoil
but when they destroyed idols and made a covenant to seek the Lord God with all of their heart, then there was rest all around them.
are you missing peace in your life? check if there is any idol in your life.
idols could be anything that takes place of God.
is your job not giving you time to worship God, is it your friends, is it your habits
anything that takes place of God is idol.
why there are fights between husband and wives. it is because selfishness , the selfishness is the biggest idol. they dont have peace and they dont give peace to their children or neighbors,
When Asa destryoed the idols and they made a covenant with God that they will seek God with all their heart, they found God and they had rest all around.
2 Chronicles 15:5,6 says
5 And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands. 6 So nation was destroyed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every adversity.
V16
and the Lord gave them rest all around.

Long ago a man sought the perfect picture of peace. Not finding one that satisfied, he announced a contest to produce this masterpiece. The challenge stirred the imagination of artists everywhere, and paintings arrived from far and wide. Finally the great day of revelation arrived. The judges uncovered one peaceful scene after another, while the viewers clapped and cheered. The tensions grew. Only two pictures remained veiled. As a judge pulled the cover from one, a hush fell over the crowd. A mirror-smooth lake reflected lacy, green birches under the soft blush of the evening sky. Along the grassy shore, a flock of sheep grazed undisturbed. Surely this was the winner.
The man with the vision uncovered the second painting himself, and the crowd gasped in surprise. Could this be peace? A tumultuous waterfall cascaded down a rocky precipice; the crowd could almost feel its cold, penetrating spray. Stormy-gray clouds threatened to explode with lightning, wind and rain. In the midst of the thundering noises and bitter chill, a spindly tree clung to the rocks at the edge of the falls. One of its branches reached out in front of the torrential waters as if foolishly seeking to experience its full power. A little bird had built a nest in the elbow of that branch. Content and undisturbed in her stormy surroundings, she rested on her eggs. With her eyes closed and her wings ready to cover her little ones, she manifested peace that transcends all earthly turmoil.
