Bible study Moses part 1

Every oppression we see has the opportunity for God to act in that situation to bring deliverance.

Acts 7 :17

17 “But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt 18 till another king arose who did not know Joseph. 19 This man dealt treacherously with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, making them expose their babies, so that they might not live. 

When everything goes well, we dont care about promises of God, we dont even think of it.

Israelites has promise that 

Moses was born in most tumultuous time.

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he  was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.

He was a beautiful child,  she hid him for 3 months.

King has commanded to kill.
But parents decided not to kill.

They saw beautiful child.
The Love you have will make you stand on your beliefs.

It is the Love of Moses parents that made them stand against the ruling of Pharaoh.

Perfect Love casts out fear.

Revelation First Love.

“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;  and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.  Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Why does God demand First Love , it is because the Love alone can cast out every fear and make you stand against odds.
Ephesus church has every good thing,
But God says you must have love first.

If you have love,  even a Pharoah kind of situation comes he can stand.

Today we see believers not deeply grounded in faith,
The statistics say in India , in youth
6 out of 10 are leaving the faith because of different situations and various pressures
My friend who was a professor in NIT calicut has shared gospel to a person there and he took baptism and started coming to Church and because of that there was pressure from rss outfits and my friend has to quit job. But what happened after that after few years my friend went to calicut and asked this guy how he was doing,  he said not in faith.

Why he left the faith because  Church did not teach the Love of God.

Song of Solomon 2:7
Do not awaken the love.

Lock your room. Worship God, Love God.
Until you satisfy , don't wake up the Love.

Miriam.

Was wonderful girl. 

By the time Moses was born, she might be around 7 to 11.

She was elder to Aaron and Moses.She's was protective. She was caring.She was thoughtful and intelligent. 

She is just the perfect girl in a house. She is a delight to her family.

Any family would love having such intelligent girl. 

She is more matured that her age .

The first songs written in bible were by Moses and Miriam.

The care that Miriam took for Moses brought out the deliverance for Israel.

You never know the simple care you take of a brother or sister , God can use that person you cared for into a might man or woman of God.

Acts 4:36,37

this man was named as Barnabas.

Levites, usually receive from the congregation.

36 And Joses,[d] who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it,and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.​

Acts 9: 26 - 30

26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. 28 So he was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out. 29 And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him. 30 When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus.

Exodus 15:

Miriam is also called the prophetess

She rose to importance after Moses and Aaron called by God.

Pharaoh daughter. 

Remember God is sovereign God.

God is in contol of all things

Even in worst of our situations,.

Too often we worry what about my food, dress and such things.  God is in control. 

Event the mother got wages paid for baby sitting her own child.

God is in control of our lives.

Moses Growing:
3 months to probably weaning period. 

He was quitened his soul.
She taught as much as she could so that world will not touch him,  the things is Egypt do not touch him. 
She taught that he cannot serve idols.
She might have taught him that he can't enjoy the pleasure of Egypt because that was sin.

Her time was limited,  she taught what she could. 
The impact of what we teach children at an early age has a lasting impact. 

Moses mother played a key role in raising him  up. 


When you come to age what comes out is what you learnt. 

With whom do you identify. 
What's your identity today? 

Are you called to be identified as Pharaoh daughter or slaves brother. 

Identity crisis.  What to choose

Do you identify with brethren of Church
Or with world.

Many people in the world try to identify with rich or powerful.

In  India,  we say I know this police or lawmaker.

Your real reward is in Christ. 

Who on the world will come out

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
