SEED-SOW-REAP- JAN 2019 Bible study series - part 1

When we think of a seed - what comes to my mind.

Seed is tiny.
Seed is very insignificant.

Seed is not beautiful.

But

Seed has potential. Look at the flowers it has beauty, look at the fruits it has taste. Look at the tree it gives shade.

More than all of this,
Seed has Life.

Genesis 1:11 NKJV

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.

And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

Genesis 1:29 NKJV

The first food that God has given to man was every herb that yields seed.and every tree whose fruit.

Every food God designed for man was intended to have seed because there is Life in the seed.

Today we see lot of fruits that are seedless.

That is not Gods design.

Gods design has Life in everything He created.

Seed with out being sown is still a seed.

Only when seed is sown , you Will see it's potential.

Seed when sown, you cannot dig and see what's it's doing.

If you dig everyday what happens it won't sprout.

But you water it and it will sprout.

What happens under the ground is the mystery of what God does.
Only He can do it.
Mark 4:26‭-‬28 NKJV
And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,  and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.  For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.

God's Word is seed.

I Peter 1:23 NKJV
having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,


The sower sows the word.
Mark 4:14 NKJV

Psalms 107:20
What is seed.

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Gods Word is His seed.


Gods Word is Powerful. - because it has life.

Look at the sand,  it is very small but stops the waves.

22 Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord.
‘Will you not tremble at My presence,
Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea,
By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?
And though its waves toss to and fro,
Yet they cannot prevail;
Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.
Seed needs Ground

There is nothing wrong with Seed, but the seed meets the ground.

James 1:21

21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and [d]overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Mark 4: 9
V9 - 9 And He said [c]to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

We will talk more about the ground.
Double minded:
Never sow two different seeds.
Deutoronomy 22:9

On one side we say by faith this happens, on other side we say I don't know the situation is bad.

Don't sow two different seeds.
Otherwise it is defiled.


Seed of rebellion

Numbers 16:1-3

SEED has Life.
Seed gives life.

Mans seed and enemy seed

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
Genesis 3:15 NKJV

Deuteronomy 22:9 NKJV
“You shall not sow your vineyard with different kinds of seed, lest the yield of the seed which you have sown and the fruit of your vineyard be defiled.

Seed - faith
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:20 NKJV

God does mighty wonders with seed.

Nothing to be prideful about Sowing the seed. Rather be thankful.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
I Corinthians 3:6‭-‬8 NKJV

Principles of sowing.

Don't worry how the seed will get the body .

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain.  But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.

2. Sow in peace.

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Sow in tears
Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with  him.
