Attitudes of Overcomer.

V7 - Ephesus

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’

Overcome Lack of First Love.

The first works always of a believer will be humble and full of love for God.

Sharing the testimony.

Then works become routine, no heart in the works.

Love will be missing.

A newly wedded couple , there will be first love. But slowly same tea will become routine.

Overcome the lack of Love.

Overcome testing period.

Why do schools have test?

Every year at the end , there will be test for kids, because only if they pass in the test they get promotion to next level.

In life, we go through different testing, no one is exception.

Abraham was tested for the love of God.

Personally every time God takes me through tests in work place , in family situation, health. It is very challenging it is not easy.

If we are going through same challenges  in life again and again.

Check if you are overcome in that situation.

Overcome the tongue.

Loose lips sink ships.

Overcomers realize mouth is important.

Overcomers build life.

James 3:

Overcome the testing.

Why does God allow testing in our lives.

Deuteronomy8:2

"You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

When does God test man?

That You should visit him every morning, And test him every moment?

Job 7:18 NKJV

God loves to test the duration of faith.

We should be people who should ready to say like David

Examine me, O Lord , and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.

Overcome compromising with World.

There is always a tendency to follow the world, mix with the world.

God hates compromising with the world.

How a man compromise with the world.

There is always a teaching first.

Just like Balaam taught Balak

This world, the media , the fashions keep teaching to us to mix.

Hold fast what you have.

When you hold fast what you have it is powerful.

Attitudes of Overcomer.

1) He is always man of faith.

   2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—[a]our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

For Many Christians, Gods commandments are burdensome. they think oh getting away from this sin is very tough, not talking gossip is tough.

why do we feel burdensome is we dont have faith.

V4 says It is Faith that overcomes the world.

My boss is tough boss  , i cannot stop talking bad about him.

I cannot use my faith. But your faith says obey your authorities.

You can overcome only by faith.

A person of Faith is always a overcomer.

2) He is under grace.

Romans 6:14

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Many believers ask whether they can do this or dont do this.

Can i watch movies or not? Law based question

Can i goto pub or not? Law

Can i tatto or not? Law

A believer should not ask Law based questions. A believer should raise up their levels and ask Spiritual questions.

Do not stay under law. Come under grace. 

After becoming believers, your questions should be whether this will build me/edify me/ build the Church/edify the Church.

1 Corinthinas 10:23

23 All things are lawful [g]for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things [h]edify.

Be under Grace of God. 

   A Judging person is always fails. Be under grace.

3) God pleaser , not a man pleaser.

      His mind is always what God thinks about this.

      1 Samuel 13: 7-12

As for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling. 8 Then he waited seven days, according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. 9 So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt offering. 10 Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might [d]greet him.

11 And Samuel said, “What have you done?”

Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, 12 then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering.”

here we see Saul was scare because people were getting scattered and philistines were ready to attaack.

In life, when we take stand for God, the people who are with us might leave, and some wil try to attack, but Take Stand and live for God.

People watch or God watch

When people watch, some act good. but when people are away all wicked things will come out.

Joseph, said How can i sin against God.

 He hates sin.

4) He always shares testimony.

Revelation 12:11

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

The moment we share testimony, you are declaring goodness of God.

Share your testimony to people.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
