Philippians 1:9,10

9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

What is Discernment: The ability to judge well.

Hebrews 5:12-14

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the [b]oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are [c]of full age, that is, those who by reason of [d]use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

This is not judging the peoples character and passing on judgement about them, but having good judgement about the situations that we face, and the times we are in.

and if it is an unbeliever, he uses his worldly knowledge he gained in the world and then judges accordingly.

your judgement comes based on what you know and understand.

Solid food - 

Today there are so many churches around the world who only feed baby milk, just to satisfy emotions. so majority of Christians will be baby Christians in the world.

But Paul says , since you get solid food , your have discernment.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of Gods mouth.

God said, ->

Samuel heard the voice of God when he was a small boy.

Discernment comes when you hear the Word of God. 

not that you finish a chapter or your daily portion.

When you eat food, you just enjoy the food or just to finish the food because its dinner time.

The bible says in Proverbs 3:5,6

5 



"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b]direct your paths."

But for you and me, the discernment , the ability to judge should come not on our own understanding. But this discernment comes by Trust.

A believers starting point is trust. 

If you ask any christian about eternal life, they say they trust God for eternal life.

But if you ask whether the same person can trust God to deliver them in a given situation, majority fail to believe in the Lord to deal with their current situation.

and that is the reason, why many lean on their own understanding.

But the key to get discernment is first acknowledge Him in our ways.

I am looking for a job, acknowledge Him.

I am looking for a breakthrough in my finances, acknowledge Him.

In everything acknowledge Him. and He shall direct your paths.

I had a first hand experience in in regards to this.

my passport expires and i have to join a new job and for that i have to apply for visa transfer.

i started saying God , i acknowledge only you can deal with this situation, no body else can.

and i wait for your work in this situation.

Friday morning i went in and i got the passport by afternoon

Luke 12

54 Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. 55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Make Peace with Your Adversary

57 “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right? 58 When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, make every effort along the way to settle with him, lest he drag you to the judge, the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison. 59 I tell you, you shall not depart from there till you have paid the very last mite.”

Understand the times that we are done

Matthew 24

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that [e]it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Why do so many Christians do wrong things.

It is really a shame for Christians to do foolish things.

Because you have the Word of God, you have Spirit of God.

You are not setting right priorities.

our marriages are not working properly because we are not treating kindly, we are not spending time with our children.

We know that Covid is hapenning all the place. you know that these are not the normal times that we are living in. everyone accepts that, but we should be a people of discernment.  

Know that it is near - at the doors.

Today we are living in a time that has never been seen

There is never a time like to be full of discernment.

Every choice you make is important in the light of the Day of Christ.

Philippians 1:10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

In the discernment, what you do is chose what is best and pure and blameless for the day of Christ.

This discernment : 

Best of your future. ( I have a choice to prepare my self to see what is important in sight of God). Chose what is best for you and your family future.

Pure and Blameless.

Paul says we should be pure and blameless on the Day of Christ.

and to be pure and blamesless , we need discernment.

if we cannot judge whether iam eating good food or bad good, i may hurt my body.

in the same way, if i cannot judge what i am feeding inside ( the more news that we feed)

Proverbs 1:23-25

23 Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
24 Because I have called and you refused,
I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,
25 Because you disdained all my counsel,
And would have none of my rebuke,

Psalm 59

"I was glad when they said to me "Let us go up to the House of the Lord"


9 V9 I will wait for You, O You [e]his Strength;
For God is my [f]defense.


In verse 9, Psalms says I will wait.
In Verse 17, To You, O my strength, I will sing praises.

The waiting time is often the toughest time in a person's life.
A youngster who gradates and waiting for a job, the waiting is tough.
A young woman who gets married and waits for a blessing of child, the waiting is tough.
A sick person waiting to have deliverance from the sickness, the waiting is tough.

Waiting is not easy.
Waiting brings the best and the worst in a person.
A person who has selfish ambitions , in their waiting , their worst will show up.

The people in this world wait for some luck to happen, things to turn around.
But for you and me, We don't wait on things like luck, charm, etc. but we wait on God. 

When you wait on God - means not taking shortcuts, not going out of the Gods will.
Waiting on God is only one option - wait on God.
But God doesnt work according to our timings our clock our expectations.
But He wants us to come on line with His timings, His clock, His Will, His Ways.

Many of us like Mary and Martha would want God to show up before lazarus died, But the Lord follows His own clock and shows up 4 days after lazarus was buried.

Isaiah 40:21
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

During the process of waiting,  what usually people does is Complaining.
James 5:7
7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

The farmer sows the seed and waits for it grow.
Some people don't sow the seed, but still waits.

Usually - In waiting people tend to grumble, Complain
Your grumbling or complaining makes the Waiting longer and longer.

Not only that some make idols during waiting.
Why God Hates Idols.
Definition of Idol is an image for God to use an object of worship. The problem with that you start worshiping the object instead of God. But you will never know God.

Now when Moses went up to the mountain and people saw the Moses delayed coming down,
they could not wait any longer and said make idols?

While you have waited for this time,
32 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us [a]gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”


As you Wait - what we should do is V17 Worship

So what should we do while we wait, we worship.
The more you worship in waiting, you are reducing your wait time

17 V 17 To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;
For God is my defense,
My God of mercy.

Psalm 105:

17 He sent a man before them—
Joseph—who was sold as a slave.
18 They hurt his feet with fetters,
[a]He was laid in irons.
19 Until the time that his word came to pass,

Key verse : John 20: 30,31

30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

1. If Jesus had never performed a miracle. what would be impact on His ministry?

2. Would He draw the same kinds of crowds and responses

3. Why Jesus performed miracles throughout His ministry?

1. Why did Jesus perform miracles?

   Miracles bring glory to God

   Miracles prove that Jesus is Gods Son

  Miracles lead people to eternal life

  Miracles shows Jesus's compassion

2. Why do we need miracles today?

Spiritual Immunity

One thing that has been doing the rounds is those who have good immunity were able to withstand the virus even though they were contacted with it.

Immunity is something that is required to withstand any effects that comes from outside virus, cough, cold, seasonal changes.

one thing that doing rounds is D vitamin.

Another is Garlic.

so many things.

We are careful about boosting our physical body immunity.

But when it comes to Spiritual Realm, not many of us think about boosting our spiritual immunity.

Why do we need Spiritual Immunity

Many of the problems that we see outside in our relationships, health, jobs, finances, -- everything is related to your spiritual immunity.

We try to cover up on outside, but we don't go to the root.

We  work reverse way 

Physical -> Soul -> Spirit

But actually it should be other way

Spirit -> Soul -> Physical

Boost it at the root : example of a tree.

How Can we boost Spiritual Immunity.

      a) Positioning: Child of God.

                  1) No Condemnation

                  2) Free  from Law of sin and death

                  3) Righteous requirements of Law are fulfilled because of Spirit.

               4) The Faith that you have is not just some magic words you say, but is because you are born of Spirit

John3:8

 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it 

comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Romans8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 

                  5) I am a Child of God - led by the Spirit of God. You are consciously involved in the leading of the Holy Spirit. Your choices, your thoughts, your actions towards others - everything you are led by the Spirit of God. 

You are declaring Child of God is not just by your faith, confession, but even by your daily life.

                  Includes Rejecting negative talk, negative thoughts, feeling shame, feeling rejected. Reject who you are not.

      b) Worship: You are declaring  who God is above all your situations. the grace flows. Humility is revealed in your dependence. Gods presence flows down to the heart that worships.

            1) Reputation increases with Worship before godly men.

  2 kings 3:14

Jehoshaphat has a reputation that no other king has before the prophets.

Elisha says to Jehoram,king of Israel, that if it is not for Jehoshaphat.

Worship , his reputation increases. 

   c) Prayer and Praying in tongues

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [g]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

              1) man gets weakened because of situations, reports, and so many other things.

But when we are weak, to pray is also very difficult, but when we spend time in His presence, and Spirit helps in weakness. He prays for us. He makes intercession for us.

Spirit knows the will of God.

A persons prayer - releases the strength, that goes in to mind, and that even goes into physical body.

That is why when you are burdened, when someone prays for you , you get so much encouraged. you get so strengthened.

and when Spirit Himself prays, there is great strength.

      c)  Exercising Godly attributes.

Fruit of the Spirit: 

 Love - 

Joy -

Peace -  these are all attributes, Fruit of the HolySpirit . when you get connected to the Spirit, and the Spirit leads you, and you obey and see that you are purposefully pursing the 

The Word says the Joy of the Lord is our Strength.

So your immediate immunity is the fruit of the HolySpirit - Joy pursuing it.

Exercising the Godly attributes willfully can greatly strengthen your immunity.

Renewal of mind: Peace

David -  Speak to himself- Psalms, hymns,

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

      

for we know we have the mind of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 2:16)

 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Cooking Man

Numbers 11: 7,8

 Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its color like the color of bdellium. 8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, cooked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and its taste was like the taste of pastry prepared with oil.

The people went about and gathered it.

This seed manna has everything that needed.

WE should know that this Word of God has everything that needs for you to sustain.

Your finances - This has it

Your Blessing - this has it

Your Health - this has it

Your destination - this has it

Your relationship = this has it

Your deliverance from your problmes - this has it

1) Gathering:

So Israel has to gather it.

To eat food, we have to gather. We all gather. We goto groceries.

Gathering the food is so important activity  in filling the stomach. Without which you will hungry and even your family will be hungry.

How about Gathering the food

Are you starving your spirit with out the food?

You might be doing many thing, but do you gather?

People who searched the Word

King Josaiah was looking for Word

David says Blessed is the one who delights in the law of the Lord.

Acts 17:11

 11 These were more [d]fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so

2)   Ground it on millstones or beat in the mortar

Beating on the millstone -

you dont buy the coriander seed and eat it directly.

It should be digestable. 

You have to beat.

Beating is the part of meditation of the Word.

The Word that goes into the Soul - and gets connected to your Spirit.

It is the place where you sit and think about the Word.

It is the place where you beat what you get and break it into parts so you will feed your Spirit.

Many people hear the Word, but they dont process it. 

If you dont take time to beat the seed, it will not be powder.

If not powder, you cannot eat it.

3) Cooked it in pans

You get the Word , You meditated on it.

Then the cooking is basically , you are praying for the Word that has Come.

I received the Word, what is your will for me in this Word.

Waiting on the Lord - makes thing clear.

and it helps to see the Will of God clearly.

Do you have that life - where you gather and then you beat it and then do you pray for the Word.

Suppose on a Sunday morning , you hear the sermon - you gathered your food, and you meditated on it , and then do you pray about that Word?

Cook yourself in prayer.

4) Prepare with Oil - 

Make it as cakes.

you dont just give the powder to your family to eat.

But you use that powder and make it like a dough and then use the dough and make the cakes that can be eaten.

Whenever you toast the bread, you apply some butter, oil. and thats what makes the bread so beautiful.

It is the presence of HolySpirit that leads you and makes that Cake that you prepared beautfiul

Are you feeding your family?  or Are you making your family starve?

Cook for your family and let the family be nourished because the man of the house cook.

Psalms 58

11 So that men will say,
“Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”


How many of you like rewards programs.
1) earn $5 Extra Bucks Rewards for every 10 prescriptions filled.
2) JC Penny says You'll earn a $10 card for every $100 spent
3) Papa Jones says - Earn 1 point for every $5 you spend online 
4) Regal cinemas says - each time you buy a ticket, you earn reward points and you can redeem them for Popcorn next time.
5) Costco, Sams club, BJs, every one says you spend monthly 250 - annual you ear 60$.
6) Kohls occasionally gives 30% coupons.


Rewards, Rewards,Rewards.
The world attracts people with rewards programs.



But this verse 11 says, Surely there is a reward for the righteous.

The Lord gives rewards for the righteous.
The Rewards

Gods plan for your life when you die on this earth.
But Gods plan goes on for eternity



Let us look at the Rewards that are that for believers

1 Corinthians 3:8-11

 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Rewards are the way Jesus feels about you for your love to Him.

Your salvation is built on Lord Jesus.

But you have to build on top of it.

Every one's work will be tested.
This work will be your choices, your little things.

Parable of the  talents. 
When the person who was given 5 talents brought five other talents, then the Lord says Well Done.
There is a reward.

Matthew 25:
 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

Every little thing that we have and how we use it, it matters.

every choice, even your money how we use it matters, and it will be rewarded.

because what do you have that you have not received it.

and if you have received it, are you not the steward to take care of it.

And even the money that you use will have big impact in coming life.

The Exchange rate is BIG.

Fire does not hurt gold, silver.

Fire consumes wood, hay, straw.




We should know that you have work in millennium rule.
the 1000 year rule in new Jerusalem.

Dont be shocked when you see God face to face.
We should ask God, shock me now to show my faults , blind spots, that i can reject wickedness.


Some will be called least in the kingdom, some will be called great in the kingdom.

Matthew 10:

40 “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”


Heaven is full of rewards.

Wickedness - Righteousness


David uses highly descriptive language comparing the wicked to snakes, serpents, cobras, and lions, and prays to God to "smash their teeth in their mouth, shatter the molars of young lions…His arrows, may they be as if crumbled to pieces"

Saul used wicked judges to label David as traitor. and out of that agony, David writes this psalm.

Characteristics of Wicked one:
1) Their heart is corrupted - 
                    The thoughts of the wicked are corrupt.
                    They continuously think bad about others. 
                    They hearts are lustful. They want what others have.
(David earned reputation by his victory of goliath.
But Saul demands reputation).


2) The wicked are estranged from the womb;
They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

Esau, was estranged from the womb. 

The wicked's nature is lies. and their father is devil.

David uses highly descriptive language comparing the wicked to snakes, serpents, cobras, and lions, 

We know that the sins that are committed by a person not only affects that man, but the household and there by coming generations.
The decision that you take will impact even next generations.

And when a person commits wickedness, even the children are impacted.
so, is God partial? is God just?

Ezekiel 18 : Reveals the heart of God for mans life.
This chapter talks about Righteousness and wickedness.


Ezekiel 18:20-24

20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?

24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness

Look at the heart of God, Even though a father might be wicked, but the son can get away from that wickedness, when the son or daughter chose to go for Righteousness.

When a person believes in Christ, he is choosing righteousness.
And that belief is not a one time activity, but that belief is throughout your life.

A person does wickedness because he does not believe.
wickedness in persons lives reveals that he does not believe.

So your generational transfer of curse can be broken when you chose Righteousness.


God does not have any pleasure when a wicked person dies.
The last verse says
 V 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”


Church, can you turn to righteousness. In the end
In the end what matters is Righteousness, Everyone has to be presented blameless before the Father.

When you hear this psalm today, Can you choose righteousness in every walk of your life.

In your heart, can you reject wickedness and choose righteousness,
The righteousness you received from the Lord, can it be manifested in the Words that you speak?

This morning , let Christ be glorified because the Church chose righteousness.
