Psalm 119 : 41-64

V43
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances.

Word of Truth - from our mouth

V45
And I will walk at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.

Let the Word of Truth reign in our tongue. Psalmist desire is he wants the mouth be full of truth. it is very natural for man to lie. some lies comes out of consciously, some lies comes with out even your knowing because your mouth is habituated to the lies.

There is board at the church which said.

Speak Truth and forget.  Speak lies and remember for lifetime.
There may be many truths you might have told but you don't remember but you tell one lie, that will haunt your life time.

When we speak lies, it will create a bondage.

V45 Psalmist says he will seek precepts of God and walk in liberty.

What is one thing in our house that always show truth. A mirror.
you goto mirror to show you the truth. 

Psalmist attitude towards the Word of God.
Delight,love, song,
V47 - delight and loves 
V48 - lift up his hand meditates 
V49 -  He took the Word as Promise.
V 50 - Comfort in affliction
V 54 - Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage
V 59,60 - Quick to obey. (Delayed obedience is disobedience.)

57 You are my portion, O Lord;
I have said that I would keep Your words.

What is portion?

did your father or grand father ever said this is for you, this house is for you, this money is for you.

that is portion. that means you say this is mine.

But Here Psalmist says God You are my portion.

if God has blessed us with some blessing, you say its my portion.

God blessed David with kingdom of israel, the throne, but he did not say this blessing is my portion, the throne is my portion.

But instead he says God is my  portion.

That is the attitude of a man after Gods own heart.

He sees the blessing and say God is my Portion.

63 I am a companion of all who fear You,
And of those who keep Your precepts.

Everyone love to have a friend with whom you share the secrets.
Whom do you have as companions? What kind of friends you have?
especially this a word for youth? Who is your companion.
Daniel's friends are Shedrach, Mesach and Abednego.
Daniel is a great man of God, but he chose to be surrounded by praying people like S,M,A.

Jesus walked in the world and dealt with many people but he was surrounded by disciples who walked in fear of God.

Surround yourself with people who fear God.

Psalm 118

14 

V1 and 29 says
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Ezra 3:10

10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood[d] in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:

“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.”[e]

Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

At the time of Ezra , David was not the king, but he left an ordinance of how to worship. and even after 3 generations after David, and 70 years of captivity, still the people worshipped God according to the ordinance of a godly man.

I am amazed by their obedience to David's ordinance.

The psalmist ordinance is this, Every praise and worship to God should mention about the Goodness of God. Mercy of God. Talk about his Mercy

When we sing songs, we sing about his good , mercy.

Every time you sing these songs, you are also compelled to show that mercy to others. Its easy to sing about God's mercy and but only when you show that mercy to others you are acknowledging Gods mercy towards you otherwise its just a lip service.

Be merciful just as your Father in heaven is merciful.

Strength and Song

V14

The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.

Strength and Song

Strength - is required when you are doing a task. We need strength when we face a challenge. We need strength when you are facing a battle.

Psalmist says God is my strength. For every challenge the psalmist faces, his strength is from God.

At the same time, the Psalmist also says - God is my song.

Song - When do we sing a song. When there is love a song comes out. when there is joy that you cannot contains the song comes out. 

V15 and 16 says the voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. Some people houses if you go, you won't see joy, there is always a complain of some problem. there is always weeping.  If you start worshipping God and rejoicing, the problems go away, but instead they keep on singing about the problems.

We are seeing Psalmist mentioning two different aspects.

Strength and Song
One is for a battle and One is for Joy.

Strength and song looks like do not go together. but God made both of them together and said this is marriage.

For some people  - God is only strength. When a time of song comes, they look to the world, they sing with the world. We see in the book of Judges, in the lives of israelites, whenever the face a battle with philistines, then they come running to God and say God you are my strength. And after they win the war they worship idols and they did what the rest of the world does.

For some people - God is only song. They sing and worship nicely, but when time of battle comes they look to the help of the world.

A true believer says - God is my strength and God is my song.
Throughout the wilderness, God is the strength of Israelites, but was not a song for them, so it did not result in Salvation.



V 19.
Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord,
Through which the righteous shall enter.

This should be our desire.
God open to me the gates of righteousness.i will go through them.

Many times, we look for crooked ways, especially when it comes to money, or dealing with people.
have you ever gone in a flight trying to hide the expensive things so that you can avoid tax after hearing the sermon about  give unto ceasar what is ceaser's.
Have you ever cooked up your taxes to get more tax returns?
Have you tried crooked paths to get your earning.
God open the gates of righteousness , i will go through them. I will praise the Lord.

seperated life

some people think just going to heaven is enough.

but its not some game just to enter. 

there is a separated life to live.

Matthew 24:37-39

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving 
in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[a] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Deuteronomy 32:11

Hovers over its young,
Spreading out its wings, taking them up,

separated life

Their life is different from others.

Esther 3:8

8 Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; their laws are different from all other people’s, and they do not keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain.

Peter says enough we lived in old times

1 peter 4:3

 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime[b] in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

Psalm 115

Praise the Lord!

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,


God created us for His glory

Isaiah 43:7
Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

This is the key for a believers life.


Proverbs 25:27
It is not good to eat much honey;
So to seek one’s own glory is not glory.

Today the Church is in a state of unto man , unto man is the glory.
Giving Glory to God is what is missing. we sing good songs of giving glory to God.
but when it comes to action, we say I should be glorified.

We many times cannot love others, or forgive others is why? not because the other person did some bad thing, it is because inside of our heart we seek glory for ourselves.

when man tries to take glory, the unity in the Church will be missing.

Our Father Abraham 's life is the best example.

Romans 4:20

20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[f]


He was living by one constant thing - giving glory to God.

Many times we fight for silly things, this is mine, that is mine.
Abraham did not fight with Lot - you take first. the 

The benefits of the giving glory to God.

when you learn to give glory to God, you know it is not mans work, but it is Gods work. so you get strengthened in faith.
Because He gave glory to God, He was fully convinced that God performs.
Righteousness.

V2)  When the believers seeks glory, people will say where is their God.

Why should the Gentiles say,
“So where is their God?”



Do we have good health? Not unto us
Do we have good jobs? Not unto us
Do we have good family, people taking care of us? Not unto us
Do we have good Church? not unto us
Do we have talents? Not unto us
Are you being used in Church ? not unto us


Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,

Psalm 112

Psalm 112

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.

The Word delight mean to bend or to incline to something.

You take pleasure in something. These are the days where the delight is all virtual. People are delighted in gadgets.  Last week when i was travelling in train, person next to me was laughing out loudly. then i see whatsapp joke.

Everything is virtual. Even when worship is going on, some take delight in looking at facebook or whatsapp or texting somebody. That is their delight.

But God says Blessed is the man who delights greatly in His commandments.

There are many things we can do that God commands us to do, but if there is no delight in what you do, there is no blessing.

say the command is God is to forgive.  or 

even when you are giving your tithe, you should have delightful heart. 

Gods Word says be a cheerful giver. you should delight in your giving.

Is there a delight in your heart to follow God. Or you are doing things just for sake of being religious.

The blessing for such people is their children are blessed. Wealth and riches are in their house , means they are prosperous. 

5. A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion.

2 Samuel 5:10 

Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo[b] and inward. 10 So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.

Psalm 27:4

One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.

Although there is wealth and riches in his house, a good and upright man deals his affairs with Discretion.

A good man deals graciously and lends. He shows the character of God. when a brother or sister is in trouble, they deal and reveal the grace of God. Have you seen a brother or sister in need and just walked away saying i will pray for you. or did you dealt graciously and gave a helping hand.

They deal their affairs with discretion. They have sound mind.

They don't embrace the immediate blessing they got, rather they channel that blessing to others and they embrace the things to come.

7) He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

8 8) His heart is established;

Is your heart established, or is it wavering.

It doesn't change for situations. 

Lack of Godly Sorrow.

2 Corinthians 7:10  Godly Sorrow.
There is lacking of Godly sorrow.

When we think of sorry, it s one of the most abused words ,
For anything people say sorry.
If you accidentally step on a person foot you say sorry, if you open the door and  don't hold it for others you say sorry.
Sorry is not simply a word .to tell is. It's a feeling .

Many times we are like pharoah.
Exodus 8:8
Sorry Please ask Lord.
Verse 15
When pharoah saw there was relief,
Again sin.
And it happened many times,
Whenever there is trouble we will say sorry Lord or we will ask pastor please pray for me  but when danger is gone and relaxed you will.

People When they don't have job they fast and pray, your bed will be full of tears .
But when you get the job,  your heart is hardened to pray like pharoah,

Like pharoah said who will do the work, you say who will go to morning work if I sit n pray in the night.

Church, our hearts should be established in the light of God. Not changing colors for situations.
