Prayer points

Pray for the Nation;
1. Justice should be done and the work of the enemy to be exposed.
2. Safety and security of all the people who are fighting to stand for truth
3. For God's word to be honored.
4. Pray for our children, youth and high school kids that they will not be indoctrinated.
5. The church and belivers will stand for the truth
6. A revival will break out in this land, in our church and many lives will be saved.
7. Pray for jobs for Sharath , Drakshavelli and Shennel.
8. Pray for Juan's healing ( husband of Migdalia)

9 Pray for Hannah, Anila, Christal, Jessica
Pray for Sheeba and villu

Psalm 70

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Come Quickly.

is a phrase we use when some one is delaying.

When you need a person to come urgently to you and that person delays, then you will call them and say Come quickly.

There is an urgency in Psalmists Tone.

V5

But I am poor and needy;
Make haste to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay.

Psalmist says I am poor and needy.

It is the one who is poor and needy who says Make Haste, Come quickly.

But sometimes we live our lives as though we are not in need of God.

Just like we take our parents for granted and we live as though we dont need them.

Even that happens in regards to God.

We wakeup and does not give thanks  as though we dont need God

we talk as though we dont need God

we take decisions as though we dont need God

We spend our money and our time and our energy as though we dont need God.

If there is no sense of urgency in your heart for God.

If there is no real desire for God, but you are just a man of traditions, then you will not say Come Quickly.

Only If your heart is burning for God.

Only in the depths of your heart, you cry out and say Lord I need you.

then your will say Come Quickly O Lord.

Psalmist says

My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Psalmist also says

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather [g]be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

 The LORD is not slack , but he wants everyone to be saved.

While We Wait,

But while we wait for the Lord to intervene in our lives
Verse 4

4 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
And let those who love Your salvation say continually,
“Let God be magnified!”

You Rejoice.

and the Key is Let God be magnified.

Too many time when we wait for Gods work in our lives, we make the problem bigger,

Psalmist says God be magnified.

Airplane looks small in sky, but the closer it comes and we go nearer , it becomes really big.

LABORERS FOR KINGDOM

LABORERS OR WORKERS

we are Gods children, we are Gods chosen, we are Gods Holy Priests, Royal Kingdom.

But God also sees us as Laborers in His harvest.

1 Corinthians 3:9

9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field,

We like to enjoy being loved.

We like to enjoy being served

we like to enjoy receiving.

But when we are assigned to do work, that becomes problem.

it is good to sing a song I am child of God. but we dont see a song, am a fellow laborer of God

We are fellow laborers

Work -> Gods plan for man is to work. there is a job for man to do.

man was never called to be idle.

Genesis 2:15

15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

But the work became a toil after the sin.

Genesis 3:16

17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:

“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
118 Both thorns and thistles it shall [f]bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
119 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread

Let us look at one mans work in his life 

Jacobs first job - It is the work for  love.

Genesis 29:18

18 Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.

You love the work - you wanted a career, even if it is less pay you want to do it anyway,

work for commitment

27 Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.”

After 7 years you might not have love for the work, you might have commitment to do your work, to finish your bills.

Work for saving.

Genesis 30:

29 So Jacob said to him, “You know how I have served you and how your livestock has been with me. 30 For what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you [l]since my coming. And now, when shall I also provide for my own house?”

Now Jacob wants to provide for his own house.

He wants to do something that his family will have something.

But Jacob , through his work at Labans house for love of his life, for his commitment, and even for his own house...

in this process ,  he raised 12 sons, that became 12 tribes.

and these 12 tribes became the nation of Israel.

He raised 12 sons.

He rebuked when Simeon and Levi struck the people of Shechem.

He raised Joseph, He raised Judah.

He was not simply working for his own self.

Everybody in the home saw that his steps were ordained by God.

His work was blessed by God, so the people raised at his home were blessed.

He became a prophet and at the end , he prophesied by blessing his children, all the 12 tribes.

He raised a Kingdom. a nation.

He was a kingdom worker.

It is easy to say that they are his physical children. but remember Jacob when he was working, each step of his life, Gods stamp was there.

Genesis 49:28

28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them; he blessed each one according to his own blessing.

Matthew 9:35-38

35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease [i]among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were [j]weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Harvest is plenty, laborers are few.

Compassion drives your work for God.

John 6:27

 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

Prayer

Many of us identify ourselves with certain people very closely.

point out someone with whom you have same wave length, 

that you can closely identify with?

Identify the person that matches your wave length.

and tell us why?

We all can identify ourselves with someone or other  because  the wavelength matches, because we think in the same way.

But there is one person in bible that all of us can identify.

Do you know who is that?

James 5:17,18

17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

James telling each one of us, 

Regardless of our background, Regardless of our profession, whatever you are, 

we all can identify with one person in bible, that is Elijah.

that Elijah was a man with a nature like ours.

We all should know what kind of man Elijah is?

Elijah credentials are very big.

Elijah was great man of God who did not see the death.

Elijah called fire from Heaven.

Elijah killed 450 baal prophets

Elijah did wonders in widows provision

Elijah raised widows son.

Elijah has openly rebuked the king of Israel - not a man pleaser

Elijah food was supplied by ravens

New testament, during Jesus time,  

When anybody has to reference a prophet they always refer to him as Elijah

when John the Baptist was asked , they asked him are you Elijah

In Lord Jesus Transifuration, he appeared along side Moses.

When Lord Jesus was on the Cross, Eli Eli, they said He might be calling Elijah.

Elijah's credentials are so big.

Elijah passed on his mantle to Elisha

Elijah was Chariots of Fire, but still not consumed.

Revaltion -> talks about 2 olive trees.

one who can shut the heavens

So, mind you that you are not talking about a normal person.

you are talking about a man who has more credentials than any living person today. 

He is equivalent to Moses.

But the James through the inspiration of the HolySpirit says, Elijah was man with a nature like ours.

you have zeal for God, same like Elijah

you have fears about people, same like Elijah( he ran away from jezebel)

you have think you are all alone, same like Elijah ( he thought he is alone of all prophets)

Whatever your nature is , you can compare yourself with Elijah.

What a great mystery that God is revealing here, 

Many times we step back in praying for country thinking nothing happens when  i pray. 

we step back in praying for ciites, praying for communites, praying for unsaved people, but a great encouragement today, Elijah is just like you and me.

Word says 

"and  he prayed earnestly"

If everyone in this room prays like Elijah, I tell you things will be different.

Everyone prays earnestly

Earnest prayer is not a long prayer.

Earnest prayer is not so much repetitive prayer.

Earnest prayer is not  a sweat inducing prayer.

But Earnest prayer is a declaration of faith in God.

1 Kings 17:1

1) And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

Why Elijah can declare boldly like this,

As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand,

 the key is before whom I stand,

thats the difference between Elijah and todays believers.

Elijahs nature is like you and me only.

But regardless of his nature, he always goes to the presence of God

He can say boldly before whom I stand.

If you are the man/woman who always stands in the presence of God,   when you come out you will be declaring 

1 Kings 17:21

And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.

1 Kings 18:42-44

42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.”

So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.”

44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, [j]‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ”

Persistent: Then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees.

Earnest prayer is persistent prayer.

3 times to revive the boy

7 times to see the cloud

What you pray matters.

1 Samuel 1:7

Prayer:

. 7 So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.

Prayer : Year after Year , she wept before the Lord. 

Every year when she went up to the house of the Lord - what she might have prayed.

Hannh: God I need a child ?

God: Why

Hannah : Peninnah is provoking me, please remove this shame.

Year after year.

But this time she changed: 

Lord I give first;
There is a meeting point in prayer:

There might be things praying for a long time, but at one point you get to that meeting point.

There was difference in approach.

There is something difference in the result.

Your giving makes difference. your alignment to Gods ways makes difference.

God is ready to great and mighty things

Genesis 15: 1

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, [a]your exceedingly great reward.”

2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I [b]go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one[c] born in my house is my heir!”

Abrams thinking was about heir of the property. But Gods plan is bigger , to be a blessing for nations.

Genesis 17: 17-22

Covenant vs Blessing.

17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” 18 And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!”

19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. 21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.” 22 Then He finished talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Abraham asked - i dont have a son - only my servant eliazer is inherit

Abraham was looking only someone who can take care of the property

God says, i am not just giving a son, am giving a promise son.

Hannah asked for son year after year.

why hannah , why do you need a son?

eli sons are gone astray

hannahs prayer every year is different from the last one.

Psalm 69 ( V1-13)

5 VV5) O God, You know my foolishness;
And my sins are not hidden from You.

Psalmist says God, You know my foolishness. And my sins are not hidden from You.

David says God my foolishness You know it.

Now Mask is the latest need and latest fashion. Using a mask, not only you stop spreading germs, but you can hide your emotions.

You can hide your life from people. You can put up mask .

But before God, He knows you inside out.

What you did secretly last week, He knows it.

The sins you committed in secret, that no body else knows, God knows it and sees it.

That is the reason David says, my sins are not hidden from You.

Can you declare this morning, my sins are not hidden from You Lord.

Whatever is hidden in your life, that people don't know. Go before God and confess.

It could be your addiction, or it could be your mixing with the world and following this world.

Remember God sees you Inside Out.

Prayer

Here Psalmist says , there are people hating me, I have become a stranger, he pours out all his situations. But in all those situations, his response is PRAYER

V13

13 But as for me, my prayer is to You,
O Lord, in the acceptable time;
O God, in the multitude of Your mercy,
Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.

There is favorable time. acceptable time.

But the main thing is PRAY.

Are you a man of prayer. a woman of prayer?

In your secret time, and secret place , do you pray?

Lord Jesus, was man of prayer.

But a true praying person will always be on his knees and pray.

A prayer where you commune with God, intimacy with God.

Very busy, not much time, whenever i get time i will pray.

KINGDOM MAN - IAM ACCOUNTABLE

Accountable.

How many of us give account to what our boss commits to us.

Is there anyone who does not have to give account.

 Romans 14:12

12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

A Wicked man thinks - not accountable

Psalm 10:13

Why do the wicked renounce God?
He has said in his heart,
“You will not require an account.”

Accountability driving force

But some do the work out of fear.

Some out of passion towards, work.

Passion

Matthew 25:14-30

14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants[a] and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents,[b] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. 

These 2 who had 5 and 2 talents had a passion, they were not lazy for the talents that was given to them, they went out, worked, put their passion to work and it produced fruit.

when they had to give account, they did not fear.

but when the 1 talent guy went , he was afraid,

when you love your authority, and Your accountability goes up.

Accountability as the head of the house.

Hebrews13:17

17 Obey those who [e]rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

This especially talks about Church, but any one who rules - has to give account of the souls

Suppose, a shepherd head of a flock, has to give account of the souls

similarly, as the head of the house, you have to give account for every soul under you.

If we know this truth, it completely changes our perspective of taking care of those under us.

Greater Accountability of the souls

Ezekiel 33. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

 9 Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have [b]delivered your soul.
