Jesus' power lets us live foreverRomans 8:11 "The spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you."Jesus death and ressurection - Matthew 26:17 - 28:10

Activity - 5 minutes

Story: 5 minutes

-> Jesus had passover meal with his disciples. He said to his disciples that one of them will handover Him to the religious leaders. Everybody wondered.

24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago.

->Lord said He must die.

Jesus said ,  "After I have been raised from the dead,".  That means He is going to raise from the dead.

31 On the way, Jesus told them, “Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say,

‘God will strike[e] the Shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

32 But after I have been raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there.”

->Judas , the betrayer, came with soldiers and handed over Lord Jesus to the soldiers.

The religious leaders accused Him of Blasphemy.

Lord Jesus died on the cross.

50 Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit.

Resurrection.

Matthew 28:
Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7

Jesus raised from the dead - He is not in the tomb. The tomb was empty.
The Women worshipped Lord Jesus.

The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him

Bring out the daily theme from the story - (5 mins)
Jesus' power lets us live forever
The Power of God that raised Jesus also helps to live forever.

It is the Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead.

Death means there is no life. there is no breath. there is nothing good in death.
But life there is every good thing.
Suppose a car with flat tyre , can it do anything? No
A tv that is not working - any use?

Practical Application:

Do you have hope

ThemeKey VerseBible StoryCharacter

Jesus' power helps us to be boldIsaiah 40:29 "He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless."Peter and John teach about Jesus - Acts 3:1 - 4:31Sierra - Lioness

Introduction

1) Tell me some really good product anything you have used recently that is very good and you want others to know about it.
2) One thing you are not bold enough to talk to others

ACTS 3:12,13
12 Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? 13 For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this.

Peter was man who had his own fears before. He was a disciple but still he had fears.
Before Jesus died on the cross , Peter denied him 3 times.
But When HolySpirit filled Him, he became BOLD.
No more fear of man, only fear of God.
Peter saw the opportunity and started sharing about Christ.

ACTS 4: 1,2,3,4
While Peter and John were speaking to the people, they were confronted by the priests, the captain of the Temple guard, and some of the Sadducees. These leaders were very disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people that through Jesus there is a resurrection of the dead. They arrested them and, since it was already evening, put them in jail until morning. But many of the people who heard their message believed it, so the number of men who believed now totaled about 5,000.

Sometimes when you speak Truth, not everyone likes it, When Peter and John were speaking the Truth, priests and other leaders did not like it.
But those who received the message , they believed and 5000 people believed.
If you are fearful of few people, then many people might miss the message.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of our people, are we being questioned today because we’ve done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed?

When we are filled with HolySpirit , we will be BOLD to speak. Peter was able to speak to rules and elders when questioned.

13 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.

Even the rulers could see the boldness in Peter and John.

29 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.

The disciples prayed that they want boldness to preach the Word.

31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

When they prayed for boldness, they were filled with the HolySpirit and they started preaching the Word of God with boldness.

Bring out the daily theme from the story - (5 mins)
Jesus power helps us to be bold.
We cannot be bold by ourselves.
The disciples prayed for boldness.
we lot of times pray for i want blessings, i want these gadgets, good scores, these are all good.
but the important thing we have to pray is BOLDNESS to be witness for Christ.
Bold to know God.
Bold to share about God.

Practical application - (7 mins)

We all have our fears. Fear of losing friends, fear of not successful in exams, fear of whats going to happen tomorrow.
But when it comes to Faith, we are all not bold.
we think what happens when we share, what would others think.
We can talk about weather with out any problem.
we can talk about medicine with out any problem.
but when it comes to faith, we are always shy.

was there any time in your school or with your friends, you were shy

VBS2020- DAY2

Day2
ThemeKey VerseBible Story
Jesus' power gives us hopePsalm 31:24 "So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord."Paul encourages other in the storm and shipwreck - Acts 27

1 When the time came, we set sail for Italy. Paul and several other prisoners were placed in the custody of a Roman officer[a] named Julius, a captain of the Imperial Regiment.

We had lost a lot of time. The weather was becoming dangerous for sea travel because it was so late in the fall,[c] and Paul spoke to the ship’s officers about it.

18 The next day, as gale-force winds continued to batter the ship, the crew began throwing the cargo overboard.
19 The following day they even took some of the ship’s gear and threw it overboard.
20 The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone.

22 But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down.
23 For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,
24 and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’
25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.
26 But we will be shipwrecked on an island.”

33 Just as day was dawning, Paul urged everyone to eat. “You have been so worried that you haven’t touched food for two weeks,” he said. 34 “Please eat something now for your own good. For not a hair of your heads will perish.”

41 But they hit a shoal and ran the ship aground too soon. The bow of the ship stuck fast, while the stern was repeatedly smashed by the force of the waves and began to break apart.

44 The others held on to planks or debris from the broken ship.[g] So everyone escaped safely to shore.

Introduction
I went to picnic, Kiran brought water melons.

Story:
After Saul believed in the Lord Jesus, he became  Paul. Now because of His testimony he was wrongly accused as prisoner. Now the soldiers were taking Paul and other prisoners to Italy on the ship.
The weather was becoming dangerous.
Storm is coming, Big Waves, Winds. No sun light, very gloomy.
V20 says all hope was lost.

In the times of hopelessness, an angel of God visited Paul and spoke to him that Paul will surely stand before ceaser. and all lives on the ship will be safe.

And at the end, the storm was so severe, the ship was wrecked, broken.
But just as the angel had said, all lives were safe and they reached the land.
The Ship was wrecked, but the lives were not wrecked.

Daily theme from the story
There is Hope in Jesus' Power.

In Hopelessness , no body was even eating food, because they thought they would die.
But Paul cheered them up and gave them food.
When there was no hope for the soldiers, sailors, it was only the one who believes in God that will have Hope.
because we don't depend on the power of man, but we depend on the Power of Almighty God.

Even in this Coronavirus time, so many people were waiting for medicines, but Gods power keeps them safe.
Everyone escaped safely

Practical Application
1) When was the last time you thought there was no hope at all.
2) We all go through times of hopelessness because of situations, people.
We might think this people will never change.
The doctors might have said these is a lifelong disease.
All your family might have given up.
But There is hope in the power of Jesus,

Mans Power is limited. but God is OmniPotent
All Powerful.

Bring out the daily theme from the story - (5 mins)

Phillipians 4:13 "For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

But that is where power of God comes.

Jesus' power helps us do hard things

Practical Application

Connect the Theme to the story. Explain the Memory Verse so the kids can understand what they read.

Love your enemies.
Celebrate with poor people
Walk by Faith Not by Sight

If there is someone who hates you, would you like to go and talk to him/her?
It is very hard , sometimes it feels impossible to reach out to someone who hates us.

It is not in our strength, that we will be able to do these things.

We might have a tough kids at school,
tough people that we know.
You know someone wronged you, but it is impossible to forgive them.

Kingdom Living - Part 1

What is the more nearer.

The most nearest thing to you is not the next Christmas, next wave of pandemic or next weekend.

Kingdom of God is near.

Matthew 4:17
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven [c]is at hand.”

Matthew 3:2
and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

What is at hand is
Not the next weekend
Not the next long weekend
Not the next Holiday
Not the next festival
Not the next exciting event
Not the next wave of pandemic
Not the next Christmas
Next Thanksgiving

But the most nearest thing is Kingdom of Heaven

But we live our lives, for next weekend, for next pay check, for next event, for next best thing.
But we rarely live lives for the Kingdom of Heaven.

But Lord Jesus starts his preaching ministry with Kingdom of Heaven, saying it is very near.
The reason for all his ministry, the driving point for all the teaching, the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

and Even John the Baptist says " Repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand"

John 18:36
36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.

The Lord says My kingdom is not of this world.
Can you imagine, Jesus never used his words, servants, to fight or pursue for this worlds issues.
He sent disciples to preach gospel.
Everything he did is because My Kingdom is not of this world.

He was in the world, but His kingdom is not of this world.
We might be in the world, but our attention, our focus, our priorities
In other words, my life should not be defined by the what i see around.

Satan is god of this world.
When worldliness brings into Church , what happens is titanic.
You want the boat in the water, but we don't water in the boat.

37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Kingdom of God is Truth
Satan is father of lies. Satan is liar, deceiver.

So if the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.... then we should live our lives for this Kingdom.
so how do we live the lives.

Starting point
1) Lord says, John the Baptist says - Repentance.

Although Hebrews says Repentance is Elementary teaching, but many in the Church miss the elementary thing.
Repentance

Sorry Lord

pharaoh - sorry is not repentance - he is not for kingdom
But look at tax collector - he cried, There should be genuine cry, wondering how did i live such life

look at the theif - confession - Hope
look at zaccheas - he repaid  - Mend what went wrong.

The seriousness of the Kingdom

2)  Thy Kingdom Come

Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

The prayer is that your Kingdom come.
That means if we are seeking Gods Kingdom, we should know that the King is our God.
we live

story of satan.

Isaiah 14: 13,14
13 For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’

I will , I will, I will
The Kingdom man, Kingdom woman has this confession in every walk of life, that is  Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done.

Kingdom way of living is the living that God expects us to live.

3)  Parable - Kingdom way of living.

The Parable of the Hidden Treasure

44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

The Parable of the Pearl of Great Price

45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Treasure: Value
Having God rule  on our lives - most valuable.

Ask a sick man on his death bed - recovered and live again
Ask a woman waiting for 12 years from blood issue -
Ask a woman who waited for years to conceive- given up by every form of science., but remembered by God.

There is nothing more valuable than the treasure of Kingdom of heaven.
Having Gods rule over you.

Philippians 3:7,8

We live the other way.
We go find a job, we go find a house -- then we come to Church, we go to presence of God, and we do everything with God to get that thing that we found on earth,

A man in the field - found a treasure
For Joy - he sold everything else and buys not just the piece of treasure, but buys the whole field.

When you think of Kingdom of heaven - there should be joy..

And for that joy, what you do matters.

Joy -
when we are asked to do some work in Church.
Do you do out of a duty? or do you do out of Joy?

Sometimes we think we do sacrifice coming at 9 AM, sacrifice coming on a weekends, sacrifice in many things.
but can we see doing work for Gods Kingdom - is it a joy for us.

Everything else he has- he will sell it
That signifies what you think important in your life , you are willing to loose it.
Paul says - will consider it as rubbish as Paul says

You think , the food is the most important , and it is very hard that you cannot fast.
you are willing to give up food , fast and pray. for the joy of knowing your God.

We live the other way
For the joy of everyday things in life, we use all the blessing that we can get from God, and we use to get blessed.

The direction is very different.

The Kingdom living is about What value you put on everything in your life?
1) How much value you put for your sleep
2) How much value you put for fun?
3) how much value you put for your food
4) How much value for your kingdom of Heaven?

Removing every obstacle, between you and kingdom of heaven.

Priesthood part 2

Priesthood is about having image of God.

2 Corinthians 3:7-9
But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

The more we come in His presence, we start seeing where we are falling short of His presence and His glory.

His Word becomes mirror to us.

When we come into His presence, we comeout with His power.

In old testament, if God is not glorified then the priest will be struck.

So, priest had to be pulled through the robe.

But now in His presence our lives are transformed.

Disciples, even though were from different background, after prayer in upper room, their lifes changed.

A prophet cannot build the Church, but a priest and kingship can build the Church.

Everyone should

Zechariah 6: 12,13

Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: “Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the Lord ; Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord . He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.” ’

Jesus is both Priest and King

John 15: priest prayer.

Two orders of priesthood.

Hebrews 5:1-6

Man to God - Aaronical priesthood
God to man, - Melchizedek priesthood

Hebrews 7:1-3
Melchizedek came from God to bless people.
Melchizedek came witg Bread and Wine.

1 peter 2:5, 9

We are called for intercession for fellow brothers and sisters.

Seperation matters.

Leave the common things which crowd follow, but let there be separation.

Aaron  clothing.
Nakedness should not be exposed.

Leviticus 16
Exodus 29

Matthew 5:23,24

First set your relationship right with your brother before coming into presence of God.

A priest when he comes out of presence of God shoild be able to bless others.

Private Life - Holy Priest
Public Life - Royal Priest

Joshua 6:
Instruction to priests

A priest should not speak, should shut their mouth.

As a priest, am not only peculiar, my ways are peculiar.

Acts 6 : 4

but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Romans 15:16
that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

The more we spend time in His presence, our weak areas will be revealed.

A priest lives by the Spirit and not by the flesh
